Some of us read His word every day. We do it out of duty not out of a passion to know Him more. He tells us to think upon, meditate upon His word throughout the day. My question is; “ Do you remember what you read yesterday?” “Do you remember what you read today?” Are we just going through the motions, the check list, whatever you want to call it. Remember when you first met your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend or your best friend? You couldn’t get enough. You thought about them day and night. You talked to them EVERY chance you got, sometimes for hours. You couldn’t wait to be with them and spend time with them. You just couldn’t get enough. Our Father is wanting that from us. He wants us to long for Him. He wants us to be hungry and thirsty for Him. He wants us to know Him intimately. How would your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, or best friend feel if you never talked to them. How would they feel if you only spoke to them when you had to. How would you feel if they only expressed their love when they needed something from you?
How would you feel if they thought something else was more important than you and they spent all their time and passion on that thing? This is exactly what we do with the Father and then we wonder why we cant hear Him. We wonder why He doesn’t speak or hear our prayers. He tells us to meditate upon His word for a reason. He is longing for a TRUE relationship with us. My prayer is that we all start taking His word seriously. I pray that God the Father will instill in you a true Passion for Him, a true longing to know Him. I promise it will make a difference in your life. If you read the word you will find that those who truly sought after Him were not just considered servants. They were considered by Him as friends and men after His heart. They went through many battles but NEVER alone.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”Joshua 1:8 NKJV
